French perfumes are distinguished by their special persistence and a variety of attractive aromas. And in order not to be disappointed in the purchased perfume, you need to know how to distinguish a fake from the original.
Instructions
Step 1
Study the packaging carefully - it must not be wrinkled. The material from which it is made can only be of good quality, and the cellophane covering the box can be thin or absent altogether. The printing design of the original is always quite clear, all the inscriptions are printed legibly and accurately.
Step 2
Pay attention to the manufacturer's spelling. It must exactly match the original brand name. If you notice extra or missing letters rearranged, then you have a fake. Check that the packaging must indicate the date of manufacture, expiration date and composition of the perfume.
Step 3
Examine the barcode. For perfumes made in France, it will start with the number 3. Under it you will see a number consisting of numbers and letters, which must match the code printed on the bottle.
Step 4
Examine the bottle. Real French perfumes will have it made of clear and transparent glass that does not have any haze or irregularities. In no case should the lid be made of metal - this is a clear sign of a fake, since perfume deteriorates due to contact with this material. In addition, the original bottle is always well secured to the stand.
Step 5
Look at the perfume itself. The liquid should be transparent, without sediment. The color of the original perfume ranges from deep yellow to fawn, but will never be too bright and unnatural.
Step 6
Pay attention to the price. Quality French perfumes are quite expensive. It is best to buy perfume in specialized stores. There, the percentage of counterfeits is much lower than in the markets or in the cosmetics departments.
Step 7
Take a look at the probe. If it is made in the form of a pencil, then this is definitely a fake. Genuine probes represent an accurate miniature of the vial.
Step 8
To test the persistence of the fragrance, apply a drop of perfume to your wrist. A real perfume will have a strong, concentrated scent, and after 15 minutes you will be able to feel all the subtlety of the scent. During this time, the scent of fake perfume will greatly weaken or evaporate altogether. The original perfume lasts from 18 to 48 hours.
