Schoolchildren in OBZH lessons necessarily go through lessons, the topic of which is how to behave during a thunderstorm. However, having matured, they often forget basic things. Every year, many people in the world become victims of the elements and die from a lightning strike. In some cases, tragedies could have been avoided if more attention had been paid to security issues. But it's never too late to recollect simple rules of conduct during a thunderstorm.

Instructions

Step 1

When at home and during a thunderstorm, be sure to unplug all electrical appliances, mobile devices, computers, and other equipment. Close the windows and vents and then stay away from them.

Step 2

If you are driving in a car, just stop, close the windows and don't go anywhere. You can calmly wait out the bad weather. But from a motorcycle, moped, bicycle, you need to get off and move away from them, if you are not in the city.

Step 3

During a thunderstorm on the street, avoid metal fences, gutters, antennas, wires … In general, all metal structures.

Step 4

In a field or meadow during a thunderstorm, you need to sit down, or rather lie down. In the absence of trees, lightning can strike you! Ideally, you need to find some kind of depression: a ravine, a hole, etc. Stay away from power lines. Try not to move.

Step 5

Worst of all, if a thunderstorm caught you in the forest. Try to get out of it as soon as possible. If this is not possible (for example, you have gone too far into the depths, into the thicket), look for a clearing. The main thing is that in no case should you hide under the trees. Lightning always strikes them, so find the most open spot. Do not lie down on the ground as you would in a field, but squat down.

Step 6

Wherever you are, if there is a body of water nearby, move away from it as far as possible. Lightning hitting water has a huge hitting radius. It hits, of course, not into the water, but into what rises above it. Therefore, never swim or ride a boat or catamaran during a thunderstorm.

Step 7

In the mountains - do not lean against the steep rocks, hide in any depression, but not under a rocky canopy.

Step 8

During a thunderstorm, one should not fuss, make sudden movements, or panic. Stay away from campfires in nature. If you are wearing a lot of metal jewelry, remove it and put it away from you. Be aware that wet clothes increase the risk of being struck by lightning! Therefore, try not to get wet, do not forget to take an umbrella or raincoat with you when you go outside.
