If you have a real Russian samovar at home, not an electric one, but a wood-fired one, then you have become the owner of a simply unique creation - a true symbol of Russian tea drinking. However, this tool requires skillful handling. So how do you heat a samovar?
Instructions
Step 1
So, if you are the happy owner of a real wood-fired samovar, then, firstly, remember that it is absolutely impossible to melt it with oil distillation products. For these purposes, use pine cones, they will give your tea a pleasant aroma and taste. To light a samovar is not so easy, it requires the ability to handle the device. Therefore, if you have seen a samovar before only in pictures, it is better to entrust the whole process to a more experienced person, since the restoration of a samovar costs a lot.
Step 2
Firewood should only be lit from below. Often they do this: they put something on the bottom that can ignite quite quickly, but the fire is brought from above, as a result, you get a bunch of spent matches and cold water in a samovar.
Step 3
Fire up the samovar as follows. The jug should be empty, take one medium-sized chip and light it. Push it carefully into the rest of the wood so that the draft does not extinguish it, then put the rest of the chips. Remember, during this procedure, the main flame should not go out, so make sure that the fire burns fairly steadily, and only then close the compartment pipe. However, do not forget to watch the fire, periodically toss firewood.
Step 4
Also try using charcoal, for this you might need a boot. This method was used in the old days, the boot must be moved and quite quickly, then the water will boil as soon as possible.
Step 5
It is very good if there is a handle on the samovar pipe, which will make the entire ignition procedure as fast and convenient as possible. Also remember that it is absolutely impossible to light an empty samovar, always pre-fill the samovar with water.
