After all, if you already have a ready-made track, and you want to superimpose the video sequence on this particular music or song, the tempo and emotional coloring of the video must match the sound. Plus, you shouldn't forget about things like copyright, timing, and sound combinations.
Music video soundtrack: basic principles
There are two types of videos: footage without offscreen text - and one where such text is provided by the script. For example, if you are making a short cut of the best moments of a football match, then this format does not include any comments from the hosts or interviews (that is, a voiceover). Players running across the field, goals, barbells, 6m can all be combined with an energetic song or music. If you are making a reportage from a children's party, where voices from the stage are heard, interviews with the organizers or guests of the event are included, it is better to choose either a backing track or light music that matches the theme of the video as a background music (for example, for a children's party, you can take music from cartoon). If you put a song in the background of such a video, its words will mix with the voices of the heroes of your video, which will negatively affect its perception - it will be difficult for the viewer to understand what people are saying in the frame.
It is better to write music for scoring yourself (fortunately, on the Internet there are a lot of samples and programs designed to create musical compositions), or find out if the track you have chosen is not subject to copyright. If you use someone else's song or piece of music without the permission of the author, it can lead to major troubles - from a fine to imprisonment.
What to do if there is no backing track
Let's say you really like a song, but you can't find a backing track for it. There are two ways out of this situation: order a "minus" from the musicians or in a specialized studio, or independently make a track for musical dubbing. In this case, you simply cut the losses from the song you need and mix them with each other using a special program.
Louder or quieter?
One of the most common mistakes when scoring a video is unbalanced volume. For example, you put a music track under the video sequence, which starts with soft music - and then picks up the volume (or vice versa). And the video already has its own sound sequence, consisting of voice-overs, interviews and other sound inclusions. Accordingly, the volume of music should always be quieter than the words that are spoken from the screen.
If you use such tracks as the sound of fanfare, drums, phone ringing, screaming of tea, etc. as voice acting elements, they should also not be drowned out by background music - otherwise the overall perception of the video will be blurry. It should be remembered that the task of the sound row is to "turn on" a certain associative row in the viewer, to create a mood by tuning in to the desired wave. If this is not achieved, all the work of creating a video can go to waste.
