The State Service for Cadastre and Cartography is correctly called the "Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography", which can also be abbreviated as Rosreestr. Separate divisions are engaged in the protection of state secrets, finance, control and audit activities and mobilization training.

The same functions on the ground are performed by the territorial bodies of Rosreestr - administrations that have been created in all regions, territories and republics that are part of the Russian Federation. They carry out operational management of those subordinate institutions of the state registration service, which are located on their territory. The Rosreestr service is a federal executive body and operates in every city of regional and district subordination.
